About Us

Bringing the Fight to Our Home Field

Our lives were forever changed when my father was diagnosed with lung cancer in October of 1978. It took his life and my heart in November of 1979.

Since then, we have been committed to joining the fight right here in Louisiana. Mauti Cancer Fund partners with local cancer institutions to provide education, prevention, and early detection screenings for individuals in our community.

How We Help

Our Mission

The Mauti Cancer Fund exists to provide education, prevention, and early detection to individuals and their families. Read below to see how we can best serve you.

  • Education
  • Prevention
  • Early Detection

Empowering Individuals Through Education

We engage the public with educational opportunities at every one of our events. Partnering with some of Louisiana’s most prominent hospitals and cancer organizations, we are happy to provide cancer-related pamphlets and educational seminars.

Focusing on cancer prevention since the early 90's.

A Lifestyle of Prevention

Our nonprofit cancer foundation emphasizes the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle to prevent cancer. We also work with communities to implement prevention strategies that address specific local needs, such as sun exposure and outdoor activities.

Methods for Early Detection

We actively promote early detection through screening events, the “Be Well Bus” at St. Tammany Health Systems, and screenings through Mary Bird Perkins– providing free screenings for more than 20 years. We strategically partner with hospitals to help promote screenings for various types of cancers.

Testimonials

In Their Own Words

"I cannot thank you guys enough for all that you do! I came to the tennis tournament this past fall to support the foundation and never excepted to be saved myself. If it wasn't for the invitation to the event, I would have never known I had cancer."

    - A Friend We Have Helped

Her skin cancer was discovered in the screening van at our Tennis Classic

"Thank you so much for your most generous gift. Words cannot express my appreciation and gratefulness. The timing of this gift was perfect– it arrived at the same time as a huge bill for radiation treatments recently completed. What a wonderful blessing!"

      - A Friend We Have Helped

"Thank you for your continued passion for making strides in the fight against cancer, locally. Your generosity is truly making a difference in our community and helping to save lives through early detection efforts."
